I am preparing for the exam with full determination," Shubham stated in a phone interview.

Family Background and Support System

Born to Shiv Kumar, a hardware businessman, and Kanchan Devi, a housewife, Shubham comes from a supportive family environment. His sister, Priya Kumari, is currently a first-year BTech student in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Patna. "To some extent, I get help from my sister in my preparation for the exam," he acknowledged, highlighting the role of familial support in his journey.

Balancing Competitive and Board Exams

When asked about the challenge of juggling competitive exams like JEE with Board examinations, Shubham displayed a mature perspective. "I am now used to it. I only focus on studies and give my best shot. I am taking coaching classes in Kota for the last one year," he explained. This disciplined approach has clearly paid off, as evidenced by his top-tier results.

Decision on IIT and Career Path

Shubham plans to make crucial decisions about his future after the JEE Advanced results are out. "Based on the score, I will decide what branch to take and where to take admission. Accordingly, I will decide what I want to be in the future. For the time being, it is ambiguous. Right now, my focus is to clear the JEE Advanced and get through my Board exam," he shared, emphasizing his current priorities.

Gender Disparity in Top Percentiles

It is noteworthy that no female candidates secured a place in the 100 percentile bracket this year, underscoring ongoing challenges in gender representation in top competitive exam scores. This aspect adds a layer of context to Shubham's achievement, highlighting the competitive landscape of the JEE Main.

As Shubham continues his preparations, his story serves as an inspiration to aspiring engineers across Bihar and India, demonstrating that with dedication and strategic planning, academic excellence is within reach.
