Kolkata: Jadavpur University conducted elections for the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to select undergraduate and postgraduate student representatives from the faculties of Arts, Science, and Engineering.
Arts Faculty Results
In the Arts faculty, the Students' Federation of India (SFI) secured victory in both categories. The SFI garnered 850 votes in the undergraduate (UG) category and 641 votes in the postgraduate (PG) category. The Left Alliance finished second in UG Arts, while the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) secured the second position in PG Arts.
Engineering Faculty Results
The Democratic Students' Federation (DSF) emerged victorious in the Engineering faculty, winning both the UG and PG seats. DSF obtained 1,776 votes in the UG category and 272 votes in the PG category. The SFI came second in both categories within the Engineering faculty.
Science Faculty Results
In the Science faculty, the West Bengal Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (WTI) won the UG seat with 308 votes and the PG seat with 261 votes. The SFI secured the second position in both categories of the Science faculty.
The elections saw active participation from students across all three faculties, reflecting the vibrant democratic process at Jadavpur University. The newly elected representatives will serve on the ICC, which addresses complaints related to sexual harassment and ensures a safe campus environment.
