Indian Railways to Recruit 22,000 for Level-1 Posts: Apply from Jan 21
Railways 22,000 Level-1 Jobs: Apply Jan 21-Feb 20

In a significant boost to government job aspirants, the Indian Railways has issued a preliminary notification for a massive recruitment drive. The national transporter is set to fill approximately 22,000 vacancies for Level-1 (Group D) positions, offering a golden opportunity for candidates who have completed their High School education.

Application Window and Key Eligibility Criteria

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB), operating under the Ministry of Railways, will commence the online application process on January 21, 2025. The portal will remain open for submissions until February 20, 2025. Candidates must note that only those between 18 and 40 years of age are eligible to apply for these posts.

A critical requirement is the alignment of Aadhaar details with the High School certificate. Applicants must ensure their name, date of birth, photograph, and biometric data (fingerprint and iris) on their Aadhaar card match their educational documents exactly. Non-verified Aadhaar applications risk delays or outright rejection.

Educational Qualification, Salary, and Selection Process

The primary educational qualification for these posts is a pass in High School (Class 10). However, candidates holding an ITI certificate may receive preference for specific roles. The selected candidates will be placed in the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix, with a starting monthly salary ranging from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 35,000, depending on the specific post and its location.

The selection process is multi-staged and rigorous. Candidates will have to successfully clear a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a Physical Efficiency Test and a final Medical Examination. Only those who qualify at every stage will secure a job offer.

Application Fees and Important Instructions

A standard application fee of Rs. 500 is applicable for candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories. A concessional fee of Rs. 250 is set for applicants from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories, and all women candidates.

All applications must be filled and submitted exclusively through the official RRB website: http://rrbapply.gov.in. The current short notice, identified as CEN No. 09/2025, is indicative. Aspirants are strongly advised to wait for the detailed official notification, which will contain the complete terms, conditions, and state-wise vacancy breakdown.

This recruitment drive represents one of the largest public sector employment opportunities of the year. With thousands of positions up for grabs, timely preparation and careful attention to the application details are paramount for success.
