Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that the NEET-UG examination will shift completely to a computer-based test format starting next year. This decision follows the 2026 paper leak controversy that led to the cancellation of the original exam. The Centre stated that the move aims to prevent malpractice and ensure the integrity of the examination system.
NEET UG 2026 Re-Examination Scheduled
The National Testing Agency has scheduled the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination for June 21. The original exam, held on May 3, was cancelled after allegations of irregularities. The re-exam will allow affected students to appear again under stricter security measures.
CBI Investigation Expands
The Central Bureau of Investigation has expanded its probe across multiple states after uncovering evidence that actual exam questions were circulated through digital networks before the examination. The investigation aims to identify the perpetrators and prevent future breaches.
The shift to computer-based testing from next year is expected to enhance security and reduce the risk of paper leaks. The government emphasized that the integrity of medical entrance exams is paramount and that all necessary steps will be taken to ensure a fair process.
Students are advised to check the official NTA website for updates on the re-exam schedule and guidelines. The education ministry has assured that the re-examination will be conducted transparently and without any compromise on standards.
