Kanpur witnessed a wave of jubilation across schools as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 12 examination results on Wednesday. Students, teachers, and parents celebrated the outstanding achievements of several candidates who secured exceptional marks.
Sonakshi Goyal: The Star Performer
Sonakshi Goyal, a student of Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre, emerged as the top scorer in the city with an impressive 99.6% marks. The school authorities further claimed that she achieved a perfect score of 400 out of 400, securing a national top rank. Speaking to the media, Sonakshi expressed her aspiration to become a doctor. She attributed her success to consistent preparation from NCERT textbooks and the notes provided by her schoolteachers. Her father, Gautam Goyal, is a chartered accountant, while her mother, Shefali Goyal, is a homemaker.
Other High Achievers
Anushka Dixit of GD Goenka Public School secured 98.8% marks. Meanwhile, Akshara Singh and Gaurvi Jaiswal, both from Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre, jointly secured 98.6% each. Aindri Chaturvedi of Delhi Public School Barra scored 98% marks. At Delhi Public School Azad Nagar, Arnav Katiyar topped with 97.8%, closely followed by Yashika Jain with 97.6%.
Students Share Their Future Plans
Anushka Dixit of GD Goenka School revealed her ambition to pursue a career in civil services, aiming to contribute towards social change and public welfare. She emphasized that her goal-oriented preparation was key to her success. Her father, Surendra Dixit, is an advocate, and her mother, Anita Dixit, is a government teacher.
Akshara Singh of Sir Padampat Singhania Education Centre, who scored 98.6%, shared her plan to pursue Political Science Honours from the University of Delhi. She mentioned that she preferred completing most of her academic work in school and studied only two to three hours daily at home. Her father, Atul Singh, is an advocate, while her mother, Pratibha Singh, is a homemaker.
Gaurvi Jaiswal, also scoring 98.6%, expressed her desire to study law and credited her teachers for her achievement. Her father, Gautam Kumar, works in the treasury department, and her mother, Jyotirani, is a homemaker.
Yashika Jain of DPS Azad Nagar, who secured 97.6%, stated her intention to build a career in psychology.

School founder Alok Mishra, pro vice-chairperson Bandana Mishra, and managing committee member Devvrat Mishra congratulated the students and wished them success in their future endeavours.
