RBSE Class 12 Blind Student Erroneously Marked Absent in Physics Exam
In a distressing incident, a visually impaired student from a private school in Jaipur has been incorrectly marked absent for the Physics paper in the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) Class 12 board exam. This error occurred despite the student appearing for the examination with the assistance of a scribe, as per standard accommodations for disabled candidates.
Error Discovered After Results Release
The issue came to light on Tuesday following the release of the RBSE exam results. The student, Arpit Agarwal, achieved outstanding scores of over 90% in all subjects except Physics, where the marksheet indicated "AA" against the theory marks, signifying absence. This discrepancy has caused significant confusion and distress for the student and his family.
Arpit Agarwal expressed his frustration, stating, "I was excited about my results on Tuesday, but when my parents saw the marksheet, we were initially confused as to why AA was written against theory marks for Physics. I asked about it and learned that it meant absent. I sat for all my exams with a scribe and attempted the entire question paper. In all other subjects, I have scored above 90, and even in Physics, marks from internals and practicals are mentioned in the marksheet."
Family Seeks Resolution Through School Coordinator
The student is now actively seeking a resolution through the school's coordinator with RBSE to rectify this administrative error. His mother, Hema Agarwal, highlighted the immense effort her son put into his studies, emphasizing the demoralizing impact of this mistake.
Hema Agarwal said, "My son is completely blind, and he put in a lot of effort to score such high marks in the board exams. He studied in a regular school with other students, and his teachers supported him to make sure that he feels no less. This error in the result is a bit demoralizing because of the effort he put in."
The family hopes for a swift correction from RBSE to ensure the student's hard work is accurately reflected in his final results.
