The Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh (BIEAP) has officially announced a revised and final timetable for the upcoming Intermediate Public Examinations (theory) for the academic year 2026. This updated schedule impacts both first-year and second-year students across the state.
Key Dates and Examination Schedule
The theory examinations will now be held from February 23 to March 24, 2026. All theory papers will take place in a single forenoon session, starting at 9 am and concluding at 12 noon. The revision was necessary to align the exam calendar with the official list of general holidays for 2026, ensuring a smooth conduct without clashes.
First Year and Second Year Exam Details
For first-year Intermediate students, the exams will kick off on February 23 with second language papers, including Telugu, Sanskrit, Urdu, Hindi, and others. This will be followed by English Paper I. Core subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Economics, and Commerce will be conducted on specific dates spread across the examination period.
Second-year students will begin their theory exams a day later, on February 24, 2026, starting with their second language paper. Their schedule includes papers for English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Commerce, and Sociology, among others. Notably, Physics Paper II for second-year students is slated for March 13, 2026.
Backlog, Practicals, and Other Papers
The board has made integrated arrangements for backlog candidates. Subject-wise backlog examinations will be conducted concurrently with the regular theory papers, eliminating the need for a separate schedule.
In addition to the main theory exams, BIEAP has confirmed the following schedules:
- Ethics and Human Values exam: January 21, 2026.
- Environmental Education exam: January 23, 2026.
- Practical exams for general courses: February 1 to February 10, 2026.
- Practical exams for vocational courses: January 27 to February 10, 2026.
What Changed in the Revised Timetable?
The earlier timetable released in October 2025 was tentative. The key modifications in this final version include the rescheduling of exams originally planned for Day 8 to March 4, 2026, and those for Day 21 to March 21, 2026. Importantly, there are no changes to the examination timings, prescribed syllabus, subjects, or the pattern of the question papers.
Students and parents are strongly advised to refer only to this revised final timetable issued by BIEAP for accurate dates and to plan their preparation accordingly. Relying on outdated schedules may lead to confusion and missed exams.
