Railways Intensify Summer Preparations Across Patna Stations
With temperatures climbing and passenger numbers swelling at key railway stations in the Patna region, the East Central Railway's Danapur division has implemented comprehensive measures to manage the seasonal surge. Major hubs including Patna Junction, Danapur, Rajendra Nagar Terminal, and Patliputra Junction are seeing increased daily footfall, prompting the railways to bolster their infrastructure and services.
Strategic Meeting to Review Summer Readiness
According to Abhinav Siddarth, the senior divisional commercial manager at Danapur, divisional railway manager Vinod Kumar convened a crucial meeting with departmental officers on Monday to assess summer preparedness. The discussions centered on ensuring operational chiller plants and reliable safe drinking water facilities at all principal stations, with Patna Junction being a primary focus.
Enhanced Passenger Amenities and Refreshments
In addition to basic utilities, the railways are providing free chilled sherbat at these stations to offer relief from the heat. Furthermore, all goods sheds and loading points within the division have been equipped with safe drinking water and refreshment facilities for workers and staff involved in freight operations, ensuring their well-being during demanding summer conditions.
Collaborative Efforts for Passenger Assistance
To improve passenger convenience, especially during peak hours, the railways have enlisted the support of NGOs, railway organizations, and self-help groups. These entities will assist in crowd management and address basic passenger needs at both large and small stations across the division, enhancing overall travel experience.
Advanced Water and Support Systems
Water vending machines have been installed at key stations to supply affordable and clean drinking water. Passengers can also utilize the helpline number (Rail Madad: 139) and the RailOne mobile application for prompt grievance resolution and journey support, streamlining assistance processes.
Digital Initiatives and Health Services
To minimize long queues, passengers are encouraged to use the RailOne App for digital ticket bookings. For health emergencies, railway health units have been directed to provide immediate care at stations including Patna Junction, Danapur, Buxar, Bakhtiyarpur, Mokama, and Kiul, ensuring medical readiness across the division.
These proactive steps by the Danapur division of the East Central Railway aim to create a safer and more comfortable environment for travelers during the challenging summer months, addressing both infrastructure and service needs comprehensively.
