Western Railway Boosts Vadodara Suburban Rail with New DEMU Service

In a significant move to enhance suburban rail connectivity and cater to increasing passenger demand, the Vadodara division of Western Railway has announced the introduction of a new DEMU service and an extension of an existing one. These changes are set to take effect from Sunday, aiming to improve last-mile connectivity and streamline commutes across the Vadodara suburban section.

New Pratapnagar-Miyagam Karjan DEMU Service

According to divisional public relations officer Anubhav Saxena, the newly launched DEMU service will operate between Pratapnagar and Miyagam Karjan via Dabhoi. This service, designated as Trains 79462 and 79461, will run six days a week, excluding Saturdays, providing regular and reliable transportation for daily commuters.

  • The train will depart from Pratapnagar at 11:00 AM and arrive at Miyagam Karjan at 12:50 PM.
  • On the return journey, it will leave Miyagam Karjan at 2:30 PM and reach Pratapnagar at 4:20 PM.

Key halts along the route include Kundela, Dabhoi, and Kavyarohan stations in both directions, ensuring accessibility for passengers from various suburban areas.

Extension of Kathana-Vadodara DEMU Service

In addition to the new service, the existing Kathana-Vadodara DEMU has been extended up to Pratapnagar, with minor adjustments to its timings at Vadodara and Bajwa stations. This extension is designed to offer seamless connectivity and reduce travel time for passengers.

Revised Timings:

  • Train 79440 (Kathana-Pratapnagar DEMU) will depart Kathana at 5:15 AM and arrive at Pratapnagar at 9:50 AM.
  • Train 79439 (Pratapnagar-Kathana DEMU) will leave Pratapnagar at 4:35 PM and reach Kathana at 9:00 PM.

Halts include Bajwa at 9:00-9:01 AM and Vadodara at 9:23-9:25 AM in the up direction, while in the down direction, stops are at Vadodara at 4:53-4:55 PM and Bajwa at 5:09-5:10 PM.
