Central Railway Mumbai Division to Execute Megablock for Engineering Works
The Mumbai division of Central Railway has announced a significant megablock operation on its suburban sections today, aimed at carrying out essential engineering and maintenance tasks. This planned disruption is part of routine infrastructure upkeep to ensure safety and efficiency in train services.
Main Line Block Details and Schedule Adjustments
On the Main line, the block will be enforced on the Matunga-Mulund Up and Down fast lines from 11:20 am to 3:45 pm. During this period, Up fast line services departing from Thane between 11:03 am and 3:38 pm will be rerouted onto the Up slow line at Mulund station. These trains will maintain their scheduled halts between Mulund and Matunga stations before being redirected back to the Up fast line at Matunga station. Passengers should anticipate delays, with arrivals expected to be approximately 15 minutes behind the usual schedule.
Harbour Line Block and Alternative Travel Options
For the Harbour Line, a block will be in effect between Kurla and Vashi stations from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. To mitigate inconvenience, special suburban trains will operate on the CSMT Mumbai – Kurla and Panvel – Vashi sections throughout the block duration. Additionally, Harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via the Thane-Vashi/Nerul route until 6 pm, providing an alternative pathway during the disruption.
This megablock underscores Central Railway's commitment to maintaining robust suburban rail infrastructure in Mumbai. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, considering the adjusted timings and available alternative routes to minimize travel disruptions.
