Panaji: The Goa Petrol Dealers Association on Tuesday clarified that there is no shortage of fuel in the state, allaying fears of a possible crisis. Association president Narahar Thakur stated that he has been in contact with petroleum companies, which confirmed that Goa currently holds a 15-day stock of fuel. He added that a boat arrives every week to replenish the supply, ensuring consistent availability.
Stable Fuel Supply in Goa
Thakur emphasized that over the past one and a half years, the supply of petrol and diesel in India has remained stable, particularly when compared to prices in neighboring states. He noted that despite global uncertainties, the distribution network has been efficient.
Call for Responsible Purchase
In light of the ongoing war, Thakur advised the public to purchase fuel only as per their immediate requirements if any shortage arises at petrol pumps in the future. He urged against panic buying, which could lead to artificial scarcity.
The association's statement comes amid concerns over potential disruptions due to geopolitical tensions. However, with regular replenishment and adequate reserves, Goa's fuel supply remains secure for the foreseeable future.
