Western Railway's Vadodara Division Announces Free Heritage Access for World Heritage Day 2026
In a significant move to celebrate World Heritage Day, the Vadodara division of Western Railway has declared free public access to its premier heritage attractions located at Pratapnagar. This special initiative will run from April 13 to April 18, 2026, offering visitors a unique opportunity to delve into the rich legacy of Indian Railways without any cost.
Heritage Sites Open for Exploration
The Railway Heritage Museum, Rolling Stock Park, and Heritage Park will be open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM during this period. These sites collectively showcase the historical and technological evolution of Indian Railways, providing an immersive experience for all age groups.
Anubhav Saxena, the public relations officer of the Vadodara division, emphasized that this weeklong free entry is designed to foster greater public engagement. "Our goal is to give citizens a chance to closely experience and appreciate the heritage assets preserved by the railways," Saxena stated.

Senior divisional mechanical engineer Anil Kumar highlighted the educational value of the Railway Heritage Museum. "The museum at Pratapnagar specifically showcases the narrow-gauge legacy of Indian Railways, along with exhibits that trace the technological advancements over the years," Kumar explained.
