Q3 Earnings Season in Full Swing: Over 680 Companies to Report Results Today
The third quarter earnings season for 2026 is set to intensify this week, with approximately 680 companies scheduled to announce their financial performance. Today, Monday, February 2, marks a significant day as several marquee firms, including Hyundai Motor India, Indus Towers, Bajaj Housing Finance, PB Fintech, RailTel, Tata Chemicals, and Awfis Space Solutions, are poised to release their December-quarter results.
Market Context and Analyst Outlook
The Indian stock market concluded Sunday's special trading session with steep losses exceeding 2%, largely attributed to Budget-related announcements concerning the securities transaction tax (STT). Despite this near-term volatility, analysts maintain a cautiously optimistic view. They suggest that while market fluctuations may persist in the short term, corporate earnings are likely to become the primary driver of market direction in the coming months.
Abhinav Tiwari, Research Analyst at Bonanza, elaborated on this perspective. He noted that overall markets are expected to remain volatile in the near term. However, a more defined trend and greater stability could emerge from April. This potential shift is anticipated to be supported by fiscal spending, improved earnings visibility for FY27, and enhanced clarity on global macroeconomic conditions.
