Mysuru Development Authority's Premium Site Auction Generates Rs 156 Crore Revenue
The Mysuru Development Authority (MDA) has successfully concluded its latest auction of premium commercial and residential sites, generating an impressive revenue of Rs 156 crore. This significant financial achievement comes from the sale of corner and intermediate sites, highlighting robust investor interest in the region's real estate market.
Strong Response with 133 Sites Sold
Out of the 200 sites that were put up for auction, a total of 133 sites were successfully sold. According to KR Rakshith, the in-charge commissioner of MDA, there was an overwhelming response from bidders, with keen interest shown across most areas of Mysuru. However, buyers largely avoided the northeast Mysuru region, specifically the Sathagalli locality.
Successful bidders now have a window of three to four days to complete their payments and finalize the deals. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of their Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) by the MDA, ensuring commitment from participants.
Vasanth Nagar Debuts with Higher Prices
In a notable development, sites in Vasanth Nagar, East Mysuru, were made available for auction for the first time. Of the 40 sites offered in this area, approximately 33 were sold. The remaining sites attracted only single bidders, who were ultimately rejected, leaving many sites still available for future auctions.
Interestingly, sites in Vasanth Nagar were purchased at an average price of Rs 9,000 per square foot, significantly higher than the base price of Rs 7,300 per square foot. This indicates strong demand and premium valuation for newly available properties in this locality.
West Mysuru Leads with Highest Bidding
The response in West Mysuru was particularly remarkable, with sites being bought for as high as Rs 13,000 per square foot, compared to a base price of Rs 7,900 per square foot. This represents a substantial premium and underscores the area's attractiveness to investors.
This performance builds on previous auction successes, where a site was previously bought for an even higher rate of Rs 21,000 per square foot, demonstrating consistent high-value transactions in Mysuru's real estate sector.
The MDA plans to continue auctioning the remaining sites in Vasanth Nagar and other areas, capitalizing on the current market momentum. This auction not only boosts the authority's revenue but also reflects growing confidence in Mysuru's property market, driven by strategic development and investor appetite.
