Lucknow Development Authority Launches One-Time Settlement Camps for 4,000 Defaulters
LDA OTS Camps Offer Relief to 4,000 Lucknow Defaulters

Lucknow Development Authority Initiates Major Relief Program for Property Defaulters

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced a significant initiative to assist approximately 4,000 defaulters in the city. Starting this Saturday, the authority will organize special camps under its One-Time Settlement (OTS) program across various housing and commercial schemes. This move is designed to provide substantial financial relief and streamline the process of regularizing property ownership for those who have fallen behind on payments.

Comprehensive Benefits Under the OTS Scheme

Under this scheme, defaulters will receive complete waiver of penalties and compound interest, allowing them to clear their outstanding dues and secure legal ownership of their properties. The LDA has committed to processing all applications within a three-month timeframe, ensuring swift resolution for applicants.

To incentivize prompt payment, the authority is offering a 3% rebate to allottees who pay the full amount within the first 30 days of the scheme. For dues exceeding Rs 50 lakh, the payment structure has been made more manageable: one-third of the total must be paid within the initial 30 days, with the remaining balance payable in convenient instalments over a six-month period.

Streamlined Application Process and Support

To facilitate a smooth application process, the LDA has established a dedicated help desk at its main office. Here, staff members will provide on-the-spot assistance to applicants in filling out the required online forms. Additionally, the authority will conduct special camps across various schemes, making it easier for allottees to apply without having to visit the central office.

In a directive aimed at preventing unnecessary delays, LDA Vice-Chairman Prathmesh Kumar has mandated that no OTS application should be rejected or objected to at lower levels without his explicit approval. This top-down oversight is expected to ensure that all eligible defaulters can benefit from the scheme without bureaucratic hurdles.

Scheme Duration and Coverage

The OTS program is scheduled to run from April 18 to July 17, providing a three-month window for defaulters to take advantage of the relief measures. The scheme encompasses a wide range of properties, including:

  • Residential categories such as EWS, LIG, MIG, and HIG
  • Commercial properties
  • Plots allotted to institutions, schools, and charitable organizations
  • Cooperative housing societies

This comprehensive coverage ensures that a diverse array of defaulters, from individual homeowners to large institutions, can regularize their holdings under the LDA's benevolent initiative.
