The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has taken a significant step towards fulfilling housing dreams for many city residents. On Friday, the authority successfully conducted a computerized lottery to allocate 634 two-bedroom flats under its popular Atal Nagar Housing Scheme located in Devpur Para.
Massive Response for Affordable Housing
The scheme, offering a mix of 1BHK and 2BHK units, witnessed an overwhelming response from the public. Online registration was open from October 4 to December 2, 2025, during which the LDA received a total of 5,781 applications for a chance to own a home. This high number underscores the strong demand for reasonably priced housing in the state capital.
Transparency at the Forefront
Ensuring a fair and transparent allotment process was a top priority for the authority. The entire lottery draw was live-streamed for the public, allowing applicants and other stakeholders to watch the proceedings in real-time. This move towards digital transparency was highly appreciated by the applicants who were present at the venue, building trust in the system.
Scheme Details: Pricing and Previous Allotment
According to LDA Additional Secretary CP Tripathi, the Atal Nagar scheme features flats with unit sizes ranging from 30 square meters to 54.95 square meters. The pricing for these affordable homes starts at an attractive Rs 9.82 lakh. This lottery for 2BHK flats followed immediately after the allotment of 1BHK units. On Thursday, the first day of the lottery process, the LDA had already allotted 1,665 1BHK flats to successful applicants.
The consecutive loteries mark a major milestone for the LDA's housing initiative, bringing thousands of families closer to securing their own homes in Lucknow. The successful completion of this transparent process sets a positive precedent for future government housing schemes in the region.
