In a significant boost to India's infrastructure for large-scale events, a premium five-star hotel is set to rise at the Yashobhoomi convention centre in Dwarka, New Delhi. The move aims to solidify the venue's position as a world-class destination for global business gatherings.
Land Allotted to ITC Hotels on Long-Term Lease
The development authority for the project, India International Convention and Exhibition Centre Ltd (IICCEL), has formally allotted land to ITC Hotel Ltd (ITCHL) on a long-term lease basis. The agreement paves the way for the hospitality giant to develop and operate a luxury hotel directly within the sprawling Yashobhoomi complex.
The allotted land is designated specifically for a premium five-star hotel project, which will include comprehensive banqueting facilities and multiple dining restaurants. This integrated offering is designed to cater seamlessly to the needs of international delegates and large event organizers.
A "Game-Changer" for India's MICE Industry
Expressing enthusiasm about the project, Anil Chadha, Managing Director of ITC Hotels, highlighted the transformative potential of Yashobhoomi. He described the convention centre as a "game-changer for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry."
Chadha noted that Yashobhoomi has already successfully hosted numerous major trade shows and conventions since its inauguration. "ITCHL shall leave no stone unturned to create one of the finest hospitality offerings through this hotel," he assured, underscoring the company's commitment to the project.
Elevating Yashobhoomi's Global Status
The addition of a branded luxury hotel is expected to be a catalyst for the venue. In an official statement, the company emphasized that the hotel will significantly boost Yashobhoomi's status as a global hub for conventions, exhibitions, and marquee events.
This strategic development addresses a critical need for high-quality, on-site accommodation, making it more convenient and attractive for organizers to host large international events at the centre. The synergy between the massive exhibition spaces and the upcoming hotel is anticipated to drive greater business tourism to the national capital region, supporting the broader economic ecosystem.
