In a significant move to fast-track the launch of full-fledged services, the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has announced a temporary reduction in the number of metro trips on the operational section of the Indore Metro. This step is aimed at accommodating the crucial final phase of testing and commissioning for the entire priority corridor.
Revised Timetable for Smoother Operations
According to an official release, the revised operational schedule will be effective from January 11. Under the new plan, metro services on the Super Priority Corridor will now run only once a day, every day of the week from Monday to Sunday. The train will depart from Gandhi Nagar station at 3:00 PM and from the Super Corridor-03 station until 3:25 PM.
The corporation clarified that this adjustment is a strategic decision to allow technical teams to work seamlessly without operational interruptions. The primary goal is to complete all necessary procedures so that metro services can be made available to the general public on the entire 16-station priority corridor at the earliest.
Final Testing Phase in Full Swing
The testing and commissioning work for the complete Indore Metro Rail priority corridor, stretching from Gandhi Nagar to the Malviya Nagar (Radisson Square) intersection, is now in its concluding stage. The official release confirmed that trial runs are being successfully conducted on the full stretch encompassing all 16 stations, including up to the Malviya Nagar intersection metro station.
Following the current trial runs, the project will enter a phase of comprehensive testing. This rigorous testing will cover the entire priority corridor, including the section that is currently operational for limited public service. This final validation is essential to ensure safety, reliability, and system integration before a full-scale launch.
