Officials from the Department of Town and Country Planning took decisive action in Gurgaon. They demolished unauthorised colonies covering a total of 8.5 acres across the city. This crackdown happened on Friday as part of an ongoing drive.
Police Support Ensures Smooth Operation
The demolition drive received strong police support. This collaboration ensured the operation proceeded without major disruptions. DTCP officials emphasized that police deployment was crucial for the smooth execution of the entire process.
First Phase Targets Pataudi Area
The first phase of demolition occurred on January 14. It focused on the urban area of Pataudi. Enforcement teams targeted two separate unauthorised colonies during this initial operation.
In village Khor, officials razed an illegal colony spread over 4 acres. They demolished 15 damp-proof courses during this action. Teams also removed five boundary walls and the entire internal earthen road network that had been constructed without proper approvals.
On the same day, another unauthorised colony faced demolition in village Gheelanwas. This colony measured 1 acre in total area. Enforcement teams cleared three damp-proof courses here. They also demolished two boundary walls and internal roads that lacked authorisation.
Second Phase Hits Farukhnagar Region
The second phase of demolition took place on January 16. This operation concentrated on the urban area of Farukhnagar. Officials targeted unauthorised colonies spanning 3.5 acres across two villages.
In villages Sultanpur and Jurola, enforcement teams carried out extensive demolition work. They removed 12 damp-proof courses during this phase. The operation also involved demolishing six boundary walls. Teams cleared the entire internal road network that had been developed without obtaining necessary approvals.
Curbing Unplanned Urbanisation
DTCP officials stated this crackdown forms part of a broader initiative. The department aims to curb unplanned urbanisation across Gurgaon. Another key objective involves preventing the sale of illegal plots within the city.
These demolition drives represent ongoing efforts to regulate real estate development. Officials plan to continue such enforcement actions against unauthorised construction. The department remains committed to maintaining planned urban growth in the region.
