BMC Online Property Tax Collection Starts Monday for 2026-27

Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation Commences Online Property Tax Collection for 2026-27 Financial Year

The Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced the commencement of online property tax collection for the financial year 2026-27, starting this Monday. This initiative covers the Salt Lake and Rajarhat Gopalpur areas, aiming to streamline the tax payment process for residents.

Distinct Tax Structures for Salt Lake and Rajarhat Gopalpur

The tax structure for Salt Lake differs significantly from that of Rajarhat Gopalpur, reflecting the unique characteristics of each locality. For Salt Lake, which includes BMC wards 29 to 41, with the exception of wards 35, 36, and 38, tax demand notices will be issued starting from the fourth week of April. Residents in this area can proactively check their total tax amount by entering their building assessment number in the property tax section of the BMC website. Online payment facilities will be available from Monday, allowing for convenient and timely submissions.

Offline Payment Options for Rajarhat Gopalpur Residents

In contrast, residents of the Rajarhat Gopalpur area, encompassing BMC wards 1 to 28, will have access to offline tax payment methods. Starting April 16, payments can be made between 11 am and 3 pm at designated bank branches and BMC tax collection offices. This dual approach ensures that all citizens, regardless of their preference for online or offline transactions, can comply with tax obligations efficiently.
