Wardha Authorities Crack Down on Hotels Misusing Domestic LPG Cylinders
In a significant enforcement action, the food and civil supplies department conducted surprise raids on five hotels located in the Nandgaon Chowk area of Hinganghat, Wardha district. The operation targeted establishments allegedly using domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes, resulting in the seizure of seven cylinders.
Operation Triggered by Supply Restrictions and Tip-offs
The raids were initiated after officials received credible information that several hotels were resorting to domestic LPG cylinders due to ongoing restrictions on the supply of commercial cylinders. This practice violates regulations designed to ensure proper allocation and safety standards for different types of LPG usage.
The enforcement team was led by food supply inspector Gaurav Bhandekar and naib tehsildar Nimaji Devne, operating under the direct guidance of district supply officer Raju Ranvir and tehsildar Yogesh Shinde. Their coordinated efforts focused on verifying compliance with LPG usage rules in the hospitality sector.
Administration Issues Stern Warning to Violators
Following the successful operation, the administration issued a clear warning that strict legal action will be taken against any establishment found violating LPG usage regulations. The message emphasizes zero tolerance for circumventing supply restrictions through improper means.
This crackdown highlights the department's commitment to monitoring and enforcing proper LPG distribution practices, particularly in commercial settings where safety and regulatory compliance are paramount. The seized cylinders have been confiscated as evidence, and further investigations may follow to determine the extent of this practice in the region.
