Koppal Job Fair Success: 343 Candidates Secure Employment Under DDU-GKY Scheme
A significant employment initiative in Koppal has yielded positive results, with 343 candidates receiving offer letters following a job fair held on March 17. The event, organized under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), took place at the Govt First Grade College and attracted substantial participation from job seekers and companies alike.
Event Details and Participation
The job fair was a collaborative effort involving multiple government bodies, including the department of skill development, entrepreneurship and livelihood, Sanjeevini–Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Mission, district administration, zilla panchayat, district skill mission, district employment exchange office, and district industries centre. It was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Suresh B Itnal, who emphasized the importance of skill development in boosting local employment.
From a total of 2,041 registrations, 605 candidates were shortlisted for the fair, with online registration facilities provided to streamline the process. More than 61 companies participated, offering a diverse range of job opportunities. According to officials, most candidates secured mid-level positions, indicating a strong match between skills and employer needs.
Selection and Distribution of Offer Letters
Of the 343 selected candidates, 265 were men and 78 were women, reflecting a gender-inclusive approach to employment. District Employment Officer Hanumesh confirmed that offer letters were distributed to all eligible candidates during the event. He stated, "The candidates are expected to join their respective jobs soon, marking a successful outcome for this initiative."
The fair highlights the effectiveness of the DDU-GKY scheme in connecting rural youth with employment opportunities, leveraging partnerships between government agencies and private sector companies to address unemployment challenges in the region.
