Kanpur: Panki police have arrested two individuals in connection with the theft of approximately 108 metal leads valued at nearly Rs 10 lakh from a factory located at Site Number-03 in the Industrial Area. The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by the factory management regarding the theft from the premises.
Investigation and Arrests
Based on evidence collected during the investigation, police apprehended Shivam Kirar and Abhishek Kushwaha, both residents of Gwalior. During interrogation, it was revealed that Shivam was employed as an operator at the factory and had allegedly orchestrated the theft in collusion with his associate, Abhishek.
Recovery of Stolen Goods
Police successfully recovered all 108 stolen metal leads, estimated to be worth around Rs 10 lakh, from the possession of the accused. The swift action by law enforcement prevented the stolen material from being transported and sold.
Planned Sale in Gwalior
According to police officials, the accused had planned to transport the stolen metal leads to Gwalior, where they intended to sell them at lower prices through local shops. However, their plan was foiled as police arrested them before they could execute it, ensuring the recovery of the stolen goods in a timely manner.
Further Investigations
Police officials stated that efforts are underway to gather information regarding the possible involvement of other individuals in the case. Additionally, verification of the criminal history of the accused is being conducted to ascertain any prior offenses.
Legal Proceedings
The arrested accused have been produced before the court, and further legal proceedings are being carried out. Police are continuing their investigation to uncover any additional links or accomplices involved in the theft.
