Tesla Opens First All-in-One Center in Gurugram

In a major boost for India's electric vehicle (EV) landscape, Elon Musk's Tesla has inaugurated its first comprehensive service hub in the country. Located at the Orchid Business Park in Gurugram's Sector 48, this new facility marks a significant expansion beyond the company's earlier experience centers in Mumbai and Delhi.

More Than Just a Showroom: A One-Stop Tesla Destination

The new Gurugram center is a leap forward from the display-only locations in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex and Delhi's Aerocity. This all-in-one establishment integrates several critical services under a single roof, including vehicle retail, after-sales service, customer delivery, and fast charging. This integrated approach is designed to offer a seamless ownership experience for Indian customers.

Leading this ambitious venture is Sharad Agarwal, a respected figure in the Indian automotive industry known for his nearly ten-year leadership as the Head of Lamborghini India. Under his guidance, the center aims to be a hub for potential buyers to learn about the latest EV technologies, enjoy test drives of the Tesla Model Y, and access robust after-sales support.

Cutting-Edge Tech on Display: Meet Optimus Gen 2

A key highlight of the new facility is the presence of Optimus Gen 2, Tesla's advanced humanoid robot. This allows visitors to witness the company's frontier technology firsthand. First unveiled in 2023, the Optimus robot utilizes actuators and sensors designed by Tesla to learn from and adapt to its environment.

Commenting on the launch, Sharad Agarwal stated, "Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. We are opening our first all-in-one Tesla Center in Gurugram, combining experience center, after-sales service, delivery, and charging station in one place." He emphasized the company's focus on building convenient charging infrastructure that fits into daily life, promising a rapid expansion of the network for a seamless EV experience across India.

Charging Ahead: Tesla's Growing Footprint in India

The world's largest EV maker officially began its Indian operations in July this year. The company currently offers two variants of the Model Y, priced at ₹59.89 lakh and ₹67.89 lakh respectively. These models are imported from China, attracting a 70% import duty.

With the launch of the Gurugram center, Tesla has bolstered its charging infrastructure in the country. The company now operates four charging stations in India, equipped with a total of 16 Superchargers and 10 Destination Chargers. Tesla highlights that its V4 Supercharging technology can add up to 275 km of range to a Model Y in just 15 minutes, addressing a key concern for potential EV buyers.

This integrated center represents a confident step by Tesla to deepen its roots in the Indian market, combining direct sales with essential support services to drive the adoption of sustainable transport.
