SITME 2026 in Surat: 4-Day Expo to Showcase Textile Tech, Expects 25,000+ Visitors
Surat's SITME 2026 Expo to Feature Groundbreaking Embroidery Tech

The textile hub of Surat is set to host a major international industry gathering, the Surat International Textile and Machinery Expo (SITME 2026). The event will span four days, commencing on January 9, 2026, at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC) in Sarsana.

Overwhelming Industry Response Expands Event

Organised jointly by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Surat Embroidery Association (SEA), the expo has already generated tremendous buzz. Due to overwhelming demand from manufacturers for exhibition stalls, the organisers had to arrange additional space and extend the event from three to four days. More than 12,000 visitors from across India have pre-registered, and the total footfall is projected to exceed 25,000 attendees.

"The huge response from exhibitors shows its success," stated Nikhil Madrasi, President of SGCCI, highlighting the strong industry interest driven by high enquiries and the extensive range of machinery on display.

Pioneering Technology on Display

SITME 2026 will serve as a platform for cutting-edge innovations designed to propel the textile sector forward. A key focus will be on advanced position embroidery machinery that replicates intricate handwork and khatli work, offering significant benefits to segments like position printing, embroidery, jacquard, and Schiffli.

In a historic first for India, the expo will feature a live demonstration of a single-head embroidery machine capable of reproducing traditional Zardosi hand embroidery. This technological leap is expected to support substantial growth in the sector by blending heritage craftsmanship with modern efficiency.

Product Launch: Specialised Nylon Thread

Adding to the list of premieres, a specially designed nylon thread for embroidery beads machinery will be launched at the exhibition. This new thread promises enhanced operational advantages and is designed for compatibility across various embroidery beads machines, potentially revolutionising production workflows for many businesses.

The expo stands as a testament to Surat's dominant position in the global textile map and underscores the industry's rapid shift towards automation and high-tech solutions to meet future demands.
