Czech carmaker Skoda Auto has scripted a historic success story in the Indian market, concluding the year 2025 with its highest-ever annual sales since commencing operations here in 2001. The brand delivered an impressive 72,665 vehicles throughout the year, a monumental leap that more than doubled its 2024 tally of 35,166 units.
Unprecedented Growth and Year-End Momentum
The record-breaking annual performance was bolstered by consistent sales momentum in the final quarter. December 2025 saw dispatches of 5,567 vehicles, closely following a strong November which recorded 5,491 units. Notably, the sales in November 2025 were nearly double those of November 2024, highlighting a sustained and aggressive growth trajectory for the brand in the country.
Product Portfolio Powers the Surge
A significant driver behind this explosive growth was the Kylaq compact SUV, which successfully helped Skoda expand its footprint in one of India's most competitive segments. The brand's India 2.0 models, the Kushaq and the Slavia, continued their strong demand, with limited-run versions further fuelling showroom interest. The premium Kodiaq SUV solidified the brand's position in its segment, while the reintroduction of the performance-oriented Octavia RS created a buzz, with all 100 allocated units being sold out rapidly after bookings opened.
Currently, Skoda's Indian lineup comprises four core models: the Kylaq, Slavia, Kushaq, and Kodiaq. The brand is set to maintain this momentum with the imminent launch of the new Skoda Kushaq facelift this month. The updated model is expected to feature refreshed exterior styling, a revamped cabin with upgraded materials and new colour schemes, and a host of additional features potentially including a larger touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera. It will likely retain the existing 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine options.
Expanding Reach and Strengthening Foundations
Beyond robust sales, Skoda made substantial investments in strengthening its backbone in India. By the end of 2025, the company had expanded its retail and service network to over 325 customer touchpoints across 183 cities. This extensive network is supported by a workforce exceeding 7,500 personnel, who collectively underwent over 25,000 days of training during the year.
The brand also crossed significant manufacturing milestones, having sold more than 200,000 locally manufactured vehicles since 2021 and surpassing the 500,000 cumulative sales mark in India. In a customer-centric move, Skoda offered longer standard warranty coverage and feature updates aimed at reducing running costs. Furthermore, India became the first major global market for Skoda to complete a full network-wide rollout of its updated corporate identity and modernised showroom design.
Reflecting on the landmark year, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, stated, "The year 2025 will always remain a special one for us. It marks our 25th anniversary in India, and it has seen us with our most enhanced and diverse product portfolio ever... The overwhelming response to the Kylaq, the continued admiration for the Kodiaq, and the passionate enthusiasm for the return of the Octavia RS reaffirm the strong emotional connection customers share with the brand." He added that the company looks forward to carrying this momentum into 2026 with a renewed product offensive and sharper customer initiatives.
