Nagpur Mahila Udyojika Fair 2026 Empowers Women Entrepreneurs with Over 260 SHGs
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation's Mahila Udyojika Fair 2026 is currently underway at the Reshimbagh ground, drawing significant participation from more than 260 women self-help groups (SHGs) across the city. This vibrant event, inaugurated on Saturday by MLAs Mohan Mate and Krishna Khopde, serves as a crucial platform for showcasing women-led enterprises and fostering economic independence.
Diverse Product Showcase at the Fair
Visitors to the fair can explore a wide array of products meticulously crafted by these SHGs. The offerings span multiple categories, including:
- Food items and processed foods
- Grains and spices
- Handicrafts and jewellery
- Herbal and organic products
- Clothing and ready-made garments
This diversity highlights the entrepreneurial spirit and creativity of women in Nagpur, providing them with an opportunity to reach a broader audience.
Notable Stalls and Their Offerings
Among the many stalls, two have garnered particular attention for their unique contributions. The Matrix Warriors NGO, represented by Nandini Menjoge and her team, features a stall promoting Indian-made products. Their collection includes T-shirts, moringa powder known for its health benefits, and Gandul Khat, showcasing traditional and health-oriented items.
Another prominent stall is operated by Radha Shri Mahila Bachat Gat, led by Gunwanta Wankar with three workers. This group specializes in khadi products, offering a range of items such as towels, napkins, and sarees, emphasizing sustainable and handcrafted goods.
Official Support and Future Prospects
Municipal commissioner Abhijeet Choudhari emphasized the fair's growing success, noting its expanding scale each year. He stated that the initiative plays a vital role in strengthening women-led enterprises by providing a robust marketing platform. Choudhari added that this effort not only supports the SHGs but also promotes self-reliance among women entrepreneurs, contributing to their economic empowerment.
The fair will remain open to the public until February 5, with operating hours from 5 pm to 10 pm daily. Entry is free, encouraging widespread community participation and support for these women-led ventures.
