AP Minister Nara Lokesh to Inaugurate Major Pharma Investment in Visakhapatnam
In a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh's industrial landscape, IT, Electronics, and Education Minister Nara Lokesh is set to lay the foundation stone for a massive pharmaceutical unit in the state. The event is scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 AM at Seetalpalem in Rambilli, Visakhapatnam district.
Project Details and Economic Impact
The project, undertaken by Blue Jet Health Care Limited, involves a staggering investment of Rs 2,300 crore. Spanning across 102.48 acres of land sanctioned by the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited in the Industrial Park Rambilli Cluster Phase II, this initiative is poised to be a game-changer for the region's economy.
Key highlights of the project include:
- Employment Generation: Expected to create over 2,000 jobs, providing a substantial boost to local employment opportunities.
- Greenfield Development: This is a completely new site, with phase-wise capacity expansion planned to maximize efficiency and output.
Phased Implementation and Strategic Goals
The development will be executed in multiple phases, ensuring a structured and scalable approach:
- Phase I: Involves an investment above Rs 1,000 crore, targeting an initial capacity of up to 1,000 KL. This phase is slated for completion by July 2027.
- Phases II and III: These subsequent stages will be finalized by October 2031, further expanding the unit's capabilities and reach.
According to company representatives, this project will enable Blue Jet Health Care to enter new and existing product verticals and deepen strategic relationships with global customers in the Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) sector. It reinforces the company's position as a global CDMO leader by enhancing manufacturing scale, technological strength, and ESG-integrated infrastructure.
Minister's Arrival and Preparations
Minister Nara Lokesh arrived in Visakhapatnam on Friday night and is staying at NTR Bhavan in Ramnagar in preparation for the inauguration ceremony. His involvement underscores the state government's commitment to fostering industrial growth and attracting high-value investments to Andhra Pradesh.
