LG Sinha Calls on Kashmiri Pandits to Invest in Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday urged the Kashmiri Pandit community to establish industries, academic institutions, and cultural centers in the region. Speaking at an event organized by overseas Kashmiri Pandits in Srinagar, he described their return as a moment of transformation and victory.

Sinha emphasized that the community, once scarred by genocide and exile, has turned pain into strength. He noted that their homecoming symbolizes confidence in the peace and administrative stability of Jammu and Kashmir under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The LG highlighted that the presence of business leaders, corporate heads, technology entrepreneurs, and cultural icons sends a powerful message of trust in the region. He called for their contributions across industry, education, arts, and spirituality to create opportunities for future generations.

Reflecting on the 1990s, Sinha recalled the unimaginable brutality faced by Kashmiri Pandits, who were forced to leave everything behind. Despite this, they chose to rebuild and create, shaping their own destiny by building industries, founding institutions, and driving innovation worldwide.

The LG asserted that the event marks a blueprint for cultural revival, economic empowerment, and community restoration. He expressed pride in the community's achievements in technology, finance, medicine, arts, and civil services, and their role in building a Viksit Bharat.

Sinha concluded that the return of Kashmiri Pandits reflects the birth of a new Jammu and Kashmir post-2019, with their contributions being vital to the nation's development journey.
