Jaya Hind Industries Invests ₹200 Crore to Expand Chennai Die-Casting Plant
Jaya Hind Industries invests ₹200 crore in Chennai expansion

In a significant boost to Tamil Nadu's manufacturing sector, Jaya Hind Industries, a leading supplier of precision aluminium die-cast components, has announced a major investment to expand its operations near Chennai. The company, part of the renowned Dr. Abhay Firodia Group, is committing ₹200 crore to enhance its production capabilities at its facility in Thiruvallur district.

Massive Capacity Boost and Vertical Integration

The substantial capital infusion is aimed at expanding the plant's installed capacity to approximately 20,000 tonnes per year. A key part of this expansion involves the construction of a new shed spanning nearly 13,000 square metres at the Kottaiyur Village site. This new space will house additional die-casting and machining lines, transforming the Chennai unit into a fully vertically integrated manufacturing hub.

The investment will fund the installation of advanced high-pressure die-casting (HPDC) machines with clamping forces ranging from 1,400 to 4,400 tonnes. This upgraded machinery will enable the production of a diverse mix of components, catering to both traditional and modern automotive needs. The product portfolio will expand from conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) parts to include electric vehicle (EV) components and large structural castings.

Driven by Strong Order Pipeline

The decision to expand capacity is a direct response to a robust pipeline of new orders that has completely utilised the plant's existing capabilities. Once operational, the enhanced facility will support Jaya Hind's growing and diverse customer base.

This clientele includes major export clients like Cummins and Generac, domestic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as TVS Motor Company in the super-premium segment, and emerging manufacturers in the electric vehicle module space.

Strategic Vision for Growth

Prasan Firodia, Managing Director of Jaya Hind Industries, highlighted the strategic importance of the expansion. "With strong order momentum across domestic and export markets, the Chennai facility will play a pivotal role in augmenting our die-casting capacity while deepening vertical integration," he stated.

Firodia further added, "By investing in advanced HPDC and machining capabilities, we are strengthening our ability to deliver complex aluminium solutions with greater control and speed to our customers." This move underscores the company's commitment to staying at the forefront of precision manufacturing technology.

Jaya Hind Industries operates manufacturing facilities at multiple locations across India, including Akurdi and Urse in Maharashtra, Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh, and now the significantly expanded site in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This expansion solidifies South India's position as a crucial hub for advanced automotive component manufacturing.
