In a decisive move to combat unlawful mining, the Ramgarh administration, in collaboration with Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), executed a controlled explosion on Tuesday to destroy an illegal entrance to an abandoned underground coal mine in the district. The operation targeted the Kedla 6 mine, located in the Mandu block, which had been inactive for several years but was being exploited through a tunnel-shaped opening for illegal coal excavation.
High-Intensity Explosives Deployed in Sealed Operation
Authorities utilized high-intensity explosives, carefully placed into a deep hole created by a heavy drilling machine, to obliterate the unauthorized access point. The area surrounding the mine was completely sealed off to ensure safety, with a substantial police contingent deployed to monitor the proceedings.
