Hyundai Unveils Refreshed 2026 Verna Sedan in the Indian Market
Hyundai Motor India has officially launched the new 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift sedan, marking a significant update to its popular mid-size offering. The vehicle arrives with a host of cosmetic enhancements, advanced features, and improved safety systems, positioning it strongly against rivals like the Honda City, Volkswagen Virtus, and Skoda Slavia.
Pricing and Variant Details
The updated Verna is now priced between Rs 10.98 lakh and Rs 18.25 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in six distinct variants: HX2, HX4, HX6, HX6+, HX8, and HX10. Customers can book the sedan either online or by visiting their nearest Hyundai dealership, with deliveries scheduled to commence by the end of this month.
Exterior and Interior Upgrades
On the design front, the Verna facelift boasts a black chrome radiator grille, larger LED headlamps, and redesigned bumpers with a new lower section. It rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and introduces two fresh color options: Classy Blue and Titan Grey Matte.
Inside, the cabin features a new D-cut steering wheel adorned with the updated Hyundai logo, leatherette seat upholstery, and enhanced comfort with an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat and a four-way electrically adjustable front passenger seat.
Powertrain Options
The sedan continues to offer two engine choices. The first is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit paired with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. The second option is a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine generating 160 horsepower, available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Segment-First Features and Safety Enhancements
Hyundai has equipped the Verna with several segment-first amenities, including a driver-seat memory function with a welcome feature, an electric walk-in device for the front passenger seat, a rear window sunshade, and a built-in dashcam. Safety is bolstered by seven airbags and a smart trunk offering over 528 litres of capacity.
Additional highlights include dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Bose speakers, a surround-view camera, a Level-2 ADAS suite, ventilated front seats, an eight-speaker Bose sound system, and a blind-spot monitor.
Market Positioning and Availability
With its competitive pricing and extensive feature list, the 2026 Hyundai Verna facelift aims to capture a larger share of the mid-size sedan segment in India. The launch underscores Hyundai's commitment to innovation and customer-centric upgrades in the automotive landscape.
