Hyundai Launches Prime Taxi Range in India: Priced from Rs 5.99 Lakh
Hyundai Enters Indian Commercial Mobility with Prime Taxi

Hyundai Motor India has officially stepped into the country's commercial mobility sector with the introduction of its new Prime Taxi range. This strategic move targets taxi operators and fleet owners with two purpose-built models: the Prime HB (hatchback) and the Prime SD (sedan).

Bookings Open with Attractive Pricing

Prospective buyers can now reserve either model at Hyundai dealerships across India by paying a token amount of Rs 5,000. The Prime Taxi range starts at an ex-showroom price of Rs 5.99 lakh for the Prime HB and goes up to Rs 6.89 lakh for the Prime SD.

Engine, Fuel Efficiency, and Key Features

Powering both vehicles is Hyundai's reliable 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, which also offers a company-fitted CNG option. Highlighting its commercial focus, Hyundai has equipped the range with a factory-installed speed limiter, capped at 80 kmph, and backed by a three-year warranty.

When running on CNG, the Prime HB delivers a fuel efficiency of 27.32 km/kg, while the Prime SD offers 28.40 km/kg. The company emphasizes a low cost of ownership, claiming it can be as little as 47 paise per kilometre.

Safety and Comfort for Commercial Use

Understanding the demands of taxi operations, Hyundai has loaded both models with essential features. Standard equipment includes:

  • Six airbags for enhanced safety.
  • Rear AC vents and front & rear power windows.
  • Electrically adjustable ORVMs and rear parking sensors.
  • A central locking system and rear defogger.
  • Steering-mounted audio controls and speakers.

The Prime HB variant gains additional comforts like rear adjustable headrests and keyless entry.

Extended Warranty and Optional Accessories

To further appeal to commercial users, Hyundai has introduced a specially designed extended warranty. This cover extends to the fourth and fifth year or up to 1,80,000 km, whichever comes first.

Operators can also opt for useful accessories such as a vehicle location tracking device with four panic buttons and a 9-inch infotainment system with a rear camera and wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

With the launch of the Prime Taxi range, Hyundai aims to provide taxi operators with vehicles that promise low operating costs, predictable maintenance schedules, and strong earning potential, marking a significant expansion of its portfolio in the Indian market.
