The Haryana cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh, on Monday approved a policy that provides significant relief to industrial plot owners. The policy addresses fresh sub-division of industrial plots and regularisation of existing illegally sub-divided plots located in rehabilitation scheme areas within municipal limits.
Scope of the Policy
According to official statements, the policy applies to industrial plots situated in rehabilitation scheme areas developed by the Union Ministry of Rehabilitation. The primary objective is to streamline industrial land use and grant legal status to plots that were previously sub-divided without official approval.
Key Conditions and Requirements
Under the new norms, the original industrial plot must measure at least one acre and must have access through an existing road with a minimum width of 12 metres. Each newly sub-divided plot must not be smaller than 500 square yards. Additionally, the policy mandates the provision of parking facilities within the premises in accordance with the Haryana Building Code-2017.
Application Process
Applications for fresh sub-division or regularisation of illegally divided plots must be submitted to the concerned municipal authorities. The competent authority has been directed to decide on these applications within 60 days. Applicants are also required to comply with directions issued from time to time by the National Green Tribunal and the Haryana State Pollution Control Board.
This move is expected to bring clarity and order to industrial land management in the state, benefiting numerous plot owners who faced uncertainty due to unauthorised sub-divisions.
