Hariva Meditech Announces Major Investment in Ujjain Medical Devices Park
In a significant boost to Madhya Pradesh's healthcare manufacturing sector, Mumbai-based Hariva Meditech Private Limited has proposed a substantial investment of Rs 200 crore to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit at the Ujjain medical devices park. The company aims to produce a range of critical care and medical technology products, positioning the region as a hub for advanced healthcare solutions.
Details of the Proposed Manufacturing Unit
Hariva Meditech has submitted a formal request for approximately 20 acres of land to develop this facility. The project is projected to create employment opportunities for around 650 people, contributing to local economic growth. The company's production plans include innovative medical devices such as continuous blood glucose monitoring systems, which are crucial for diabetes management, and vacuum-assisted wound closure systems for enhanced patient care.
Additionally, the unit will manufacture various consumables and anaesthesia products, addressing key needs in hospital and clinical settings. A committee has thoroughly reviewed the proposal and granted an in-principle approval for land allotment, paving the way for the project's advancement.
Expansion of the Ujjain Medical Devices Park
This development is part of a broader expansion at the Ujjain medical devices park, where eight other medical device units are scheduled to commence operations during the current financial year. These units will focus on manufacturing essential healthcare products, including catheters, syringes, diagnostic kits, implants, and blood collection devices.
Collectively, these eight units are expected to attract an investment of approximately Rs 254 crore and generate employment for nearly 2,400 individuals. This influx of investment and job creation underscores the park's growing importance in India's medical device industry.
Insights from MPIDC Executive Director
Rajesh Rathod, Executive Director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC), highlighted the progress at the park. "Apart from new proposals like Hariva Meditech, several companies that have already been allotted land are in advanced stages of setting up their facilities," he stated. "A number of these units are expected to go on stream within this financial year, which will translate into actual production and employment on the ground."
