India to Begin Semiconductor Exports Soon, Says Amit Shah at MP Summit
Amit Shah: India to Start Semiconductor Exports Soon

Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that India is poised to establish itself as a significant player in the global semiconductor industry, with plans to begin exports in the near future. He made this announcement while addressing the 'Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit'.

A Strong, Albeit Late, Entry into Semiconductors

Shah acknowledged that India's entry into the semiconductor manufacturing sector was delayed. However, he emphasized that the country has now made a strong and decisive entry. "In no time, we will not only become self-reliant in the semiconductor sector but will also start exporting it," Shah stated confidently. This move is seen as a critical step towards technological sovereignty and a major boost to the 'Make in India' initiative.

Massive Investments and Job Creation in Madhya Pradesh

The event, held on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's 101st birth anniversary, witnessed the inauguration of industrial projects with a total worth of ₹2 lakh crore. Officials confirmed that these projects are expected to generate a substantial 193,000 new jobs, providing a significant economic impetus to the region.

Shah highlighted Madhya Pradesh's strategic advantages, including its attractive geographical location and fertile land. He noted that even small investments in the state could yield substantial returns. The Home Minister also praised the state's remarkable transformation from being power-deficient to achieving a surplus in electricity production.

Honouring Legacy and State Achievements

During his speech, Shah paid rich tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, remembering him as a great orator, a sensitive poet, and a leader dedicated to public welfare who remained an 'ajatashatru' (a person without enemies) in politics. The summit, which attracted 25,000 beneficiaries along with thousands of entrepreneurs and investors, also served as a platform to honour other leaders. Shah paid respects to Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya on his birth anniversary and C Rajagopalachari on his death anniversary.

Furthermore, Shah commended Madhya Pradesh for its achievements in the Swachh Bharat (Cleanliness) mission, stating it has surpassed other states in this aspect. His visit also included inaugurating the Gwalior Fair and dedicating the renovated Atal Museum to the public, as part of the extended celebrations for Vajpayee's birth anniversary.

The announcements and inaugurations at the summit underscore the government's dual focus on advancing high-tech industries like semiconductors while simultaneously driving ground-level industrial growth and job creation in states like Madhya Pradesh.
