Skoda is set to introduce the Peaq electric SUV in the Indian market by 2026, promising a range of 600 kilometers and fast-charging technology. The vehicle, based on the MEB platform, is expected to compete with models like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
Key Features and Specifications
The Skoda Peaq will be equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP-claimed range of 600 km. It supports DC fast charging up to 170 kW, allowing a 10-80% charge in under 30 minutes. The SUV will feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing around 300 bhp.
Design and Dimensions
Inspired by the Vision 7S concept, the Peaq measures approximately 4.5 meters in length, with a wheelbase of 2.8 meters. It will have a sleek, aerodynamic design with a closed grille, slim LED headlamps, and a coupe-like roofline. The interior is expected to include a 13-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and sustainable materials.
India Launch and Pricing
Skoda plans to launch the Peaq in India by 2026, likely priced between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 30 lakh. It will be locally assembled to keep costs competitive. The SUV will be part of Skoda's strategy to expand its EV portfolio in India, following the Enyaq iV.
Competition and Market Positioning
The Peaq will rival the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8. With its long range and fast charging, Skoda aims to attract buyers looking for a premium electric SUV with practical daily usability. The company is also considering a smaller electric model for the mass market.
