UPSIDA CEO Inspects Industrial Areas in GB Nagar, Ghaziabad

Kanpur: Chief executive officer of the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA), Vijay Kiran Anand, conducted an extensive inspection of the industrial and residential areas in Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad districts. He issued directives for the appointment of a hydrologist, and instructed the Jal Nigam to take necessary steps for effective mitigation. He also directed the preparation of a comprehensive action plan for the repair and reconstruction of damaged roads.

Key Directives Issued During Inspection

Instructions were issued for rigorous testing and evaluation of the ongoing projects through M/s RITES Limited, a Government of India enterprise. Several important developmental and administrative directions were also issued during the inspection.

Drainage and Water Supply

Instructions were issued to complete the cleaning of drains and sewerage systems in industrial areas at the earliest and to ensure regular monitoring thereafter. Officials of the Jal Nigam were directed to initiate necessary action to strengthen the water supply system in Trans-Delhi Signature City.

Road Infrastructure

Directions were issued to assess damaged roads and prepare a detailed plan for their repair and reconstruction. Industrial associations were directed to coordinate with UPSIDA for preparing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ensure effective implementation of Solid Waste Management (SWM) and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) activities.

Land and Hospital Proposals

On the request of industrial associations, directions were issued to forward the proposal for allocation of land for an Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Hospital. Instructions were also issued to expedite action on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) submitted by the Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies (RCUES) for capacity enhancement of the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) in Trans-Delhi Signature City. Proposals were directed to be prepared and sent to Headquarters for the optimal utilisation of vacant land available.

Wastewater Treatment Plants

In Gautam Buddha Nagar, directions were issued to ensure completion of the under-construction Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTPs) of 3.6 MLD capacity at EPIP Kasna and 6.0 MLD capacity at Site-B by June 2026. Additional instructions included completion of drain-cleaning works across industrial areas before the monsoon season.

Interaction with Entrepreneurs

During the visit, the CEO also held an interaction meeting with entrepreneurs and representatives of industrial organisations and discussed ongoing development works, infrastructure facilities, issues faced by entrepreneurs, and their suggestions. The CEO said: “Our priority is to develop industrial areas into modern, well-planned, and investor-friendly destinations. By ensuring the prompt resolution of entrepreneurs’ concerns, we are creating an industrial ecosystem that will accelerate investment, employment generation, and industrial growth.”

Representatives and office-bearers of various industrial and residential associations were present during the visit. UPSIDA officials present included Vijay Rawal (Deputy General Manager), Satish Kumar (Assistant General Manager), N.K. Jain (Senior Manager, Civil), Rajveer Singh (Senior Manager, Finance), Sharmila Patel (Project Officer), along with other officers and staff members.
