SWR Removes Gadag Bypass Stoppage After TOI Report

Hubballi: In response to a Times of India (TOI) report published on Thursday, the South Western Railway (SWR) has taken decisive action by removing the stoppage at Gadag Bypass for summer special trains. The stoppage had been announced earlier despite opposition from residents of Gadag, but the station was not mapped for online or offline booking, causing inconvenience to passengers.

Increase in Train Frequency

SWR has now decided to enhance passenger convenience by increasing the frequency of Train No. 06577/06578 Yeshwantpur–Vijayapura Express Special from a weekly service to a bi-weekly service. This change aims to provide more travel options and better connectivity for passengers traveling between these routes.

Elimination of Operational Stoppage

At the same time, the operational stoppage at Gadag Bypass has been completely eliminated to improve overall efficiency and reduce travel time. The railway has marked Gadag Bypass as a through station for both trains, meaning trains will pass through without stopping. This decision is expected to streamline operations and ensure faster journeys for passengers.

The removal of the stoppage and the increased frequency reflect SWR's commitment to addressing public concerns and optimizing train services. Passengers who previously faced issues with booking or travel due to the unavailability of the Gadag Bypass station for bookings will now benefit from the improved service.
