SCCL Sets Record with Rs 41 Crore Accident Insurance Payout to Employees
SCCL Sets Record with Rs 41 Crore Insurance Payout

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has achieved a milestone by providing free accident insurance benefits to its employees, distributing Rs 41 crore to the families of deceased workers over the past two years. Under this scheme, each eligible family receives an insurance payout of Rs 1 crore.

Enhanced Coverage and Record Distribution

As part of its employee welfare initiatives, SCCL has decided to implement an accident insurance scheme providing coverage up to Rs 1.25 crore. In 2024, Singareni became the first organisation to launch such a scheme. Officials stated that the family members of SCCL employee Nagula Santosh, who died in a road accident, received the insurance benefit. Santosh had secured a job in the company on compassionate grounds but died after serving for only 18 months.

Beneficiaries of the Scheme

Another beneficiary is P Latha, wife of the late Ranjith Kumar, who died in an accident while returning after visiting his month-old son. Since Kumar had a salary account with a bank that had an agreement with Singareni, his family received Rs 1 crore under the accident insurance scheme. The cheque was personally handed over by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka.
