Reliance Consumer Acquires Global Rights for Brylcreem, Toni & Guy, Badedas, and Matey
Reliance Consumer Buys Global Rights for Four International Brands

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd, the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, has made a significant move in the global personal care market. The company announced on Friday that it has acquired the global rights for four well-known international brands. This announcement came alongside the release of its financial results for the quarter ending December 31, 2026.

Major Brand Acquisitions

The company has secured global rights for Brylcreem, Toni & Guy, and Badedas. Additionally, Reliance Consumer has acquired global rights for Matey, a UK-based brand specializing in children's personal care products. These acquisitions were confirmed through RIL's investor presentation.

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd has not disclosed the financial details of these acquisitions. However, the company has clearly stated its strategic intentions. RCPL plans to expand these brands both in domestic Indian markets and across international territories.

Company Statement on the Acquisitions

"RCPL acquired international beauty brands spanning key grooming and bathing segments," the company stated. "We have acquired global rights to these heritage brands, with a few territories excluded. Our aim is to expand their presence in international markets while growing them in India."

About the Acquired Brands

Brylcreem

Brylcreem is a British brand famous for men's hair styling products. This haircare brand holds a significant market share both in India and globally. Its portfolio focuses on male grooming products and is closely associated with masculine hygiene.

Toni & Guy

Toni & Guy began as a salon brand and has evolved into a comprehensive haircare and styling brand. The brand now offers a variety of personal care products beyond just salon services.

Badedas

Badedas is a German brand known for its personal care products. The brand offers a range of items infused with natural plant extracts, appealing to consumers seeking natural ingredients.

Reliance Consumer's Recent Activities

RCPL, which became a direct subsidiary of RIL on December 1, 2025 after being demerged from Reliance Retail, has been actively expanding its portfolio. The company previously acquired Tamil Nadu personal care brand Velvette.

Recently, RCPL relaunched the Velvette brand with an expanded product line. The relaunch included products such as soaps, shampoos, shower gels, body lotions, and talcum powders.

Beyond acquisitions, RCPL has developed its own brands. The company offers personal care products under brands like Glimmer and Get Real, which include bath soaps among other items.

In late November 2025, RCPL also acquired a majority stake in Udhaiyams Agro Foods. This company has a strong presence in Tamil Nadu with key staples like rice and pulses. Udhaiyams Agro Foods also produces various food products, including snacks and idli batter.

Financial Performance

For the December quarter, RCPL's overall gross revenue showed impressive growth. The company's gross revenue jumped 1.6 times year-on-year to reach ₹5,065 crore.

Looking at the broader picture, RCPL's year-to-date gross revenue for FY26 has exceeded ₹15,000 crore. This represents growth of 1.8 times compared to the same period in the previous fiscal year.

The acquisition of global rights for these four international brands marks another strategic step for Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. The company continues to strengthen its position in the FMCG sector through both acquisitions and organic growth.
