Joey Bosa to Cowboys or Titans? Two new suitors emerge

After nearly two months of free agency, Buffalo Bills defensive end Joey Bosa remains without a team. Despite connections to the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions, nothing materialized. Now, two new suitors have emerged: the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans.

Dallas Cowboys a potential landing spot

CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles sees Joey Bosa as a fit for the Cowboys. Dallas relies heavily on Rashan Gary, who struggled in 2025 with a strong start followed by a dramatic drop. Gary recorded 45 total tackles (25 solo), 7.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 16 games.

Behind him, rookie Malachi Lawrence may need time to acclimate, and second-year defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku posted 40 total tackles (20 solo), 2.0 sacks, and one forced fumble in 17 games. Bosa could provide immediate pass-rushing help for a team aiming to win in 2026.

Joey Bosa's career numbers

In 2025, Bosa recorded 29 total tackles (17 solo), 5.0 sacks, four forced fumbles, and two passes defended in 15 games. Over 10 NFL seasons, he has amassed 372 total tackles (269 solo, 103 assisted), 77.0 sacks, 22 forced fumbles, five passes defended, and four fumble recoveries in 122 games.

Tennessee Titans: A perfect fit?

Locked On Titans' Tyler Rowland believes Bosa is ideal for Tennessee. Reasons include: Bosa is a veteran with a proven track record as a pass rusher. The Titans have approximately $40 million in cap space, and Bosa may command a $10-12 million deal for a rotational role. Personal connections exist through younger brother Nick Bosa, who played under Titans head coach Robert Saleh in San Francisco. Bosa could mentor young players like Oluwafemi Oladejo and Jermaine Johnson.

Rowland stated, “Drafting Keldric Faulk did not really change the way I feel about the need on the edge. Keldrick Faulk will play on the edge on early downs and then rush from the interior. If he's going to rush from the interior, then that means on passing downs, you didn't really help your edge rush issue at all. Jermaine Johnson is not an alpha edge rusher. Jermaine Johnson is not getting 14.0 sacks this year; Jermaine Johnson at his peak got 7.5 sacks. I just think the Titans need more at the edge rusher spot, and I think Bosa has the high-end potential to make it an actual good edge rusher group.”

Whether Bosa signs with the Cowboys or Titans remains to be seen. Stay updated with the latest NFL news.
