NEW DELHI: Hyundai Motor India has announced a price increase across its entire vehicle lineup, with the hike reaching up to Rs 12,800, effective from June 1. The company stated that the exact increase will vary depending on the specific model and variant.
Reasons Behind the Price Revision
Hyundai attributed the price revision to escalating input costs, higher commodity prices, and increased operational expenses. The automaker emphasized that it had attempted to absorb a portion of the cost burden internally before deciding to pass on the remaining costs to customers.
"While the company continuously strives to optimise costs and minimise the impact on its customers, the company is constrained to pass on some of the increased costs to the market," Hyundai said in a statement.
Impact on Consumers
The price hike, which will come into effect from June 1, 2025, will affect all models in Hyundai's Indian lineup, including popular models such as the Creta, i20, Verna, and Venue. Customers planning to purchase a Hyundai vehicle are advised to make their purchase before the price revision takes effect to avoid the additional cost.
Hyundai's move follows similar price increases by other automakers in India, who have also cited rising raw material costs and supply chain challenges as key factors behind the hikes.
