Fortis Healthcare Ltd has reported a significant 44% increase in its consolidated net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026, driven by an expansion in EBITDA margins. The company's net profit stood at INR 345 crore for the quarter, compared to INR 240 crore in the same period last year.

Financial Performance Highlights

The hospital chain's revenue from operations grew by 12% year-on-year to INR 1,850 crore in Q4 FY26, up from INR 1,652 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. The EBITDA margin improved to 22.5% from 19.8% in the year-ago period, reflecting better operational efficiencies and cost management.

For the full fiscal year 2025-26, Fortis Healthcare posted a 31% rise in net profit to INR 1,200 crore, compared to INR 916 crore in FY25. Annual revenue increased by 14% to INR 7,200 crore from INR 6,316 crore in the previous year.

Operational and Strategic Developments

The company attributed the strong performance to higher patient volumes, improved payor mix, and successful cost optimization initiatives. Occupancy rates across its hospitals improved to 68% in Q4 from 64% a year earlier, while average revenue per occupied bed (ARPOB) rose 8% to INR 55,000 per day.

Fortis also expanded its network during the year, adding 200 beds through brownfield expansions and acquiring a multi-specialty hospital in Mohali. The company's debt-to-equity ratio improved to 0.15 from 0.22 in the previous year.
