Pharma major Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd announced on Thursday that it has been invited to ring the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to commemorate 25 years of its listing on the exchange. Dr Reddy’s made history in April 2001 as the first pharmaceutical company in Asia, outside Japan, to be listed on the NYSE.
Senior Management to Attend Ceremony
The Hyderabad-based company’s senior management team will attend the ceremony at NYSE in the early hours of May 30 (IST). The delegation includes chairman Satish Reddy, CEO Erez Israeli, CFO MV Narasimham, North America CEO Milan Kalawadia, global generics CEO MV Ramana, and company secretary and CSR head K Randhir Singh, among others.

Dr Reddy’s listing on the NYSE in 2001 was a landmark event for the Indian pharmaceutical industry, showcasing the company’s global ambitions and adherence to international standards. Over the past 25 years, the company has expanded its presence in the U.S. market, offering a wide range of generic and specialty medicines.
The ringing of the closing bell is a prestigious tradition at the NYSE, often reserved for companies celebrating significant milestones or achievements. Dr Reddy’s joins a select group of Indian companies that have been honored with this recognition.
