Commercial LPG Price Reduction in Delhi

Oil marketing companies have reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders in Delhi by Rs 183.50, effective July 1, bringing the retail price to Rs 2,930 per cylinder, according to sources.

In addition, the price of the 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has been lowered by Rs 13, with the retail price in Delhi now standing at Rs 808.50.

Context of Recent Price Changes

This reduction follows a series of price revisions in recent months. In June, domestic LPG prices were increased by Rs 29 per cylinder, raising the price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi from Rs 913 to Rs 942.

Earlier, on March 7, oil companies had raised LPG prices by Rs 60 per cylinder due to disruptions in global energy markets linked to the conflict in West Asia.

Impact on Businesses

The revision in commercial LPG prices is significant for sectors that rely heavily on such cylinders, including eateries, catering services, and small businesses, as fuel accounts for a major share of their operating costs.

In April, oil marketing companies had increased commercial LPG prices by Rs 195.50 across metropolitan cities amid tensions in West Asia. With that revision, prices were raised to Rs 2,208 in Kolkata, Rs 2,031 in Mumbai, and Rs 2,246.50 in Chennai.

Previous Adjustments in 2025

In January, oil marketing companies raised the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 111. Following that revision, the retail price in Delhi stood at Rs 1,691.50. The 5-kg FTL cylinder was also increased by Rs 27, effective January 1.

The latest price cut provides relief to commercial users after several months of increases driven by global energy market volatility.
