The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation (MC) has officially submitted a comprehensive proposal worth Rs 1,000 crore to the central government for a major sewerage system upgrade. This ambitious project aims to overhaul the city's aging sewerage infrastructure, which has been struggling to meet the demands of the growing population and increasing urbanization.

The MC has requested the central government to approve the proposal at the earliest so that work can commence within the current fiscal year.
