Adani Foundation's Social Security Program Empowers 500 Women with Disabilities

The Adani Group, through its philanthropic arm the Adani Foundation, has launched a transformative social security initiative aimed at providing long-term financial stability to women with disabilities. This landmark program, known as Adani Mangal Seva, has successfully extended comprehensive financial support to 500 beneficiaries in its inaugural cohort.

Substantial Financial Support for Sustainable Independence

Each beneficiary under the Adani Mangal Seva initiative has received a substantial fixed deposit of Rs 10 lakh. This financial instrument is strategically structured to provide a reliable fixed monthly income, ensuring consistent economic support. Furthermore, the principal amount becomes accessible to the beneficiaries after a ten-year period, offering both immediate relief and long-term financial security.

Strategic Partnerships and Beneficiary Selection

The identification and selection of beneficiaries were conducted in close collaboration with the non-profit organization Youth for Jobs. This partnership ensured a transparent and needs-based approach. All 500 women, aged between 25 and 40 years, are verified holders of Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards, confirming their eligibility and the program's targeted outreach.

The completion of support for this first group was formally announced at a special gathering in Ahmedabad. This event also commemorated the first wedding anniversary of Diva and Jeet Adani, held on February 7th, linking the corporate commitment to a personal celebration of family and community.

A Long-Term Commitment to Empowerment

The Adani Mangal Seva program is designed as a sustained, multi-year commitment. The initiative has a structured plan to support up to 500 divyang women annually for a minimum period of five years. To ensure the longevity and impact of this endeavor, an annual allocation of Rs 50 crore has been dedicated to sustain the program's operations and its profound long-term effects on the beneficiaries' lives.

Robust Implementation with Banking Support

For effective implementation and secure financial management, the Adani Foundation has partnered with the State Bank of India (SBI) as the official banking partner. This collaboration ensures the professional handling of the fixed deposits, guaranteeing the promised financial benefits are delivered reliably and securely to the women, thereby fostering trust and stability within the program.

This initiative represents a significant corporate social responsibility effort, moving beyond temporary aid to establish a framework for enduring economic empowerment and social inclusion for women with disabilities in India.
