Paisabazaar expands physical retail to South India

Chennai: Paisabazaar, a digital-focused financial marketplace and free credit score platform, is targeting southern India for its physical expansion. The company is establishing retail stores in Bengaluru and Chennai as part of a broader plan to open 100 outlets across the country over the next two years.

Currently, Paisabazaar operates retail stores in the Delhi-NCR region. While credit remains its core business, the platform has diversified into bonds, fixed deposits, mobile recharges, and bill payments.

Southern Expansion Strategy

Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad have always been key markets for us, said Santosh Agarwal, CEO of Paisabazaar. With the success of our stores in the NCR, it seemed only natural to extend our retail initiative to southern cities. The company, part of PB Fintech, will open its first store in South India in Chennai during the first week of May, followed by two more outlets in the city. Three stores are planned in Bengaluru, offering products such as business, home, and personal loans, along with credit cards. Additionally, services like Udyam registration, GST registration, and GST filing will be available at these outlets.

Offline Assistance for Digital Hesitancy

Asked about the focus on expanding its physical footprint, Agarwal explained, Digitisation will remain core to our strategy, but we believe there are still large segments, such as small business owners, who may not be comfortable making financial decisions digitally. Our aim is to reach these consumers through offline assistance.

The expansion reflects a hybrid approach, combining digital convenience with in-person support to capture a wider customer base. With 100 outlets planned, Paisabazaar aims to strengthen its presence in both metropolitan and emerging markets.
