The Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL), a prominent public sector general insurer under the Government of India, has officially launched its recruitment campaign for the year 2025. The company is inviting applications to fill 300 vacancies for the post of Administrative Officer (Scale-I). Revised Application Dates and Vacancy Breakdown

Prospective candidates must note a crucial update in the recruitment schedule. While the process was initially slated to begin on December 1, 2025, OICL has revised the dates due to unavoidable circumstances. The online registration and fee payment window will now be open from 3 December 2025 (starting at 6:30 PM) until midnight of 18 December 2025.

The total of 300 posts is divided into two streams. The majority, 285 positions, are for Generalist Officers, while 15 positions are reserved for Hindi (Rajbhasha) Officers. The vacancies are distributed across various reserved categories including UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PwBD, as per government norms.

Eligibility, Salary, and Selection Process

To be eligible, candidates must be Indian citizens or belong to specific categories defined by the Government of India. The age limit is between 21 and 30 years as of 30 November 2025, with applicable relaxations for reserved categories.

Educational qualifications require a graduation or post-graduation with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) for Generalist posts. For Hindi Officer posts, a Master's degree in Hindi/English or a related subject with the specified language proficiency is mandatory.

The selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of ₹50,925–2500(14)–₹85,925–2710(4)–₹96,765. The approximate gross monthly salary in metropolitan cities will be around ₹85,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package including medical cover, pension under NPS, gratuity, and leased accommodation.

Exam Pattern and How to Apply

The selection will be a three-phase process. It begins with a Preliminary Examination (Tier I) scheduled for 10 January 2026, followed by a Mains Examination (Tier II) on 28 February 2026. The final phase will be an interview. The final merit list will be prepared with an 80% weightage for the Mains exam and 20% for the interview.

The application fee is ₹250 for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates (intimation charges only) and ₹1000 for all other candidates.
